Hypercarb’s porous graphitic carbon has a flat crystalline geometry that provides different selectivity than most brush-like alkyl-bonded silicas and is particularly well suited for separating molecules with rigid, multi-ring structures and many functional groups. Stereoselectivity for isomers is also enhanced, especially for those isomers that can accommodate themselves to the flat graphite surface.
